Richard Battista, a Babson College MBA and a Bronze Star recipient for his service as a combat infantryman in the Vietnam War, was one of the 99 veterans who were honored by the New England Patriots Fund on National Vietnam War Veterans Day at Gillette Stadium. The ceremony was held to thank and honor Vietnam veterans and their families, and the Patriots joined hands with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration’s Commemorative Partner Program to pay tribute to those who served.

During the ceremony, Battista and his colleagues had the opportunity to meet with Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s family, former linebacker Andre Tippett, and offensive lineman Cole Strange. The veterans were honored in a special pinning ceremony, and Battista extended an invitation to Josh Kraft, Bob Kraft’s son, to visit Babson College campus and interact with students. This special occasion provided a platform for Battista and his fellow veterans to share their experiences and connect with the community.

The New England Patriots Fund organized a luncheon after the ceremony for the veterans and their family members. It was a gesture of appreciation and recognition for their service and sacrifice. The event was a touching reminder of the bravery and dedication of the veterans who served their country during the Vietnam War.

Richard Battista’s attendance at the ceremony, alongside other veterans, serves as a reminder of the importance of recognizing the sacrifice and service of those who served in the Vietnam War. The New England Patriots Fund’s efforts to honor Vietnam veterans and their families, as part of the Commemorative Partner Program, were a heartwarming tribute to the courage and commitment of those who served in the military. The ceremony and luncheon served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by Vietnam veterans and their families, and their contributions to our nation’s history.
